How we protect your personal data
1Data Collected
YAPlayer only collects data strictly necessary for the service: TV device MAC address, login credentials (encrypted), profile preferences, and your IP address temporarily, for security and rate-limiting purposes. No viewing data is collected.
2Use of Data
Collected data is used exclusively for: authentication and account management, synchronization of your profiles and playlists across devices, service improvement. It is never sold or shared with third parties for commercial purposes.
3Payment and Billing
License purchases are handled by Polar Software, Inc., acting as reseller and Merchant of Record: Polar collects the payment, charges the applicable VAT and issues the invoice. We never have access to your payment card details, which neither pass through nor are stored on our servers. When you make a purchase, we pass your device MAC address to Polar for the sole purpose of linking the paid license to the right TV; Polar separately collects your email address and billing country under its own privacy policy.
4Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely on Firebase (Google Cloud Platform). Passwords are encrypted and never stored in plain text. Session data is cleared when the application is closed.
5Recipients and Transfers Outside the European Union
Two processors are involved in running the service: Google (Firebase) for hosting account data, and Polar Software, Inc. for payment processing. As these providers may process data outside the European Union, notably in the United States, such transfers are covered by the safeguards required under the GDPR, in particular the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. Our application servers are hosted in France.
6Your Rights
In accordance with GDPR, you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, portability and objection regarding your data. To exercise these rights, contact us at: privacy@ya-player.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority. Please note that deleting the MAC address permanently cancels the activation on the device concerned. Requests relating to your billing data should be addressed to Polar, which acts as controller for that data.
7Cookies and local storage
We use no advertising cookies, no tracking cookies and no ad networks. The site relies solely on local storage strictly necessary for the service you request: your login session, the selected profile, your theme and language, and the record of your acceptance of the terms. Our analytics run on a self-hosted Umami instance: it sets no cookies, does not track visitors across sites and produces only aggregate statistics. As these operations are exempt from prior consent, no cookie banner is required. During payment, Polar's secure window may set its own trackers, necessary for fraud prevention and governed by Polar's own policy.
