How we protect your personal data
1Data Collected
SYAPLAY only collects the data strictly required to run the service: your email address, your TV's hardware identifier, the address of the playlists you save along with any access credentials it may contain, your profiles and their preferences, and your IP address temporarily for security and rate limiting. Passwords and PIN codes are never stored in clear text. No viewing data is collected.
2Diagnostic data (optional)
If you consent, the app sends a technical report when it runs into an error. The report contains: the kind of error (program error, playback failure, failed start-up or TV pairing, network outage), the app screen concerned, the app version, the TV's model and software version, its language, and the identifier of the screen within your account. It contains neither the address nor the credentials of your playlists, nor channel names, nor the titles of what you watch. These reports are used solely to fix defects in the app; they are kept for 30 days at most and are not shared with any third party other than our hosting provider. Sending is off by default. You can allow or withdraw it at any time, from your account area or from the app's settings; withdrawing it erases the reports your screens have already sent.
3Use of Data
Collected data is used exclusively for: authentication and account management, synchronization of your profiles and playlists across devices, service improvement. It is never sold or shared with third parties for commercial purposes.
4Payment
SYAPLAY is free during its launch period: no payment is requested or processed, and no banking data is collected. If the service becomes paid, this policy will be updated before the change to describe the data then processed and the providers involved.
5Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely on Firebase (Google Cloud Platform). Passwords are encrypted and never stored in plain text. Session data is cleared when the application is closed.
6Recipients and Transfers Outside the European Union
One processor is involved in running the service: Google (Firebase), for hosting account data. As Google may process data outside the European Union, notably in the United States, such transfers are covered by the safeguards required under the GDPR, in particular the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. Our application servers are hosted in France.
7Your Rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, portability and objection regarding your data. To exercise these rights, contact us at: privacy@syaplay.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority. Please note that erasing a TV's hardware identifier permanently forfeits the access rights attached to that screen.
8Cookies and local storage
We use no advertising cookies, no tracking cookies and no ad networks. The site relies solely on local storage strictly necessary for the service you request: your login session, the selected profile, your theme and language, and the record of your acceptance of the terms. Our analytics run on a self-hosted Umami instance: it sets no cookies, does not track visitors across sites and produces only aggregate statistics. As these operations are exempt from prior consent, no cookie banner is required.
